Regional consensus - NOT!

This, courtesy of the pulse column in the Joliet Herald News finally makes some sense as regional consensus flies out the window.

Us vs. them
The excruciatingly long power struggle over the proposed Peotone airport has led to some strange political twists. Last week, county board Republican Majority Leader Wayne McMillan , R-Bolingbrook, praised Democrat Walsh for his tough stance against fellow Democrat and U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. and his airport plan.

"You can continue to use your bully pulpit as far as I'm concerned," McMillan said to Walsh. "So have at it."

When it comes to the airport squabbling, it's all about geography not political affiliation.
